October 20th at Colonial Heights Park in Aberdeen will be the home to our annual fall event.  Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a fun and thrilling event for children 10 and under.  The event will include games, prizes, inflatables, and food!!  There will be a small fee associated with this  event.  We hope to see you there!!!  Together our community can make this a great event that will be able to grow in the future...

Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Department is adding a new program to our schedule.  Beginning Ballroom will begin October 15, 2007.  I am looking for children ages 8 to 12 who are interested in learning the basics of Ballroom.  Sherry Wood is the instructor who brings a wealth of knowledge to the floor.  She has past experience teaching ballroom at an Arthur Murrary School of dance.  The fees are for 6 sessions AR $ 24 NR $29.  I am hoping to grow the program to include adults with the next year.  There is more information and forms to be downloaded at www.townofaberdeen.net

My name is Shelbi O'Brien and I am the new Program Coordinator for Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Department.  I am attempting to reach as many moms and kids as possible to help our youth programs for the Town of Aberdeen grow and become successful.  I have established 6 different summer camp programs for kids beginning in July.  We do however have limited space availible for each of the different camps so it is very important to call the office right away and sign up.  910-944-5902.

We have wonderful camp counslers that are on staff.  And I will personallybe checking in regularly at the camps.  I have listed the camps on the calender, so they should be viewable for everyone.

I am asking that everyone get involved in our wonderful community and help me make Aberdeen's youth program successful.
