Recycling clothes - 2007/10/30 10:08 I have this huge pile of clothes in my closet that I can't give to Goodwill because they will only take clothes with no holes, no missing buttons, etc. yet I feel like I'm wasting a lot of good material (especially jean) if I just throw them away. Does anyone know if there is a place locally that will take old clothes? I would even consider taking them to Fayetteville if there was someone there who could recycle it.

Re:Recycling clothes - 2007/10/30 21:43 This may sound like a crazy idea, but have you considered contacting the art department at Sandhills Community College. I know that when I was doing a lot of printmaking we used rags for each project and went through them like crazy. I know the college has a printmaking program. We also used to use them for making our own paper (100% rag cotton) for printing.

In addition to rags, we used old telephone books for printmaking and those are usually harder to come by. It's a weird suggestion but worth the email or phone call if they can use them.
