About Our School

It is the goal of our programs to provide fun and educational activities in a safe and loving environment, a place in which your child will learn and grow. Our students choose from a variety of hands-on, age-appropriate activities that are created to meet the developmental needs of young children. They will develop socially, intellectually, emotionally, and physically while their natural love  of learning is nurtured by supportive, qualified teachers.

Theme based lesson plans keep children interested and make learning fun as they practice pre-reading and math skills, explore our culture and traditions, move to the rhythm of music, and have group experiences in the classroom and on the playground. Group activities give children the opportunity to practice social skills, such as cooperation, sharing, and taking turns. Toddlers and two year olds are active learners. That is why we strive to provide an environment that keeps their fingers busy and their minds  engaged and happy, a stimulating and nurturing first school experience for your little one.

Hours of Operation

Mother’s Morning Out:  Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 - 11:30 am
Two’s Class: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 - 11:30 am

Enrollment/Registration:

Our program offers two classes:

Mother’s Morning Out (or the One’s Class) is offered to  children who are at least 15 months old and walking. The Class meets twice a week.

Two's Class - The Two’s Class meets three days a week and is open to children through the summer following their third birthday.

Class size will not exceed 10 children per group. Interested parents should contact Mehera Ardinger
at (910) 725-0336 or Scarlett Roth (910) 725-0185 for more information including a detailed handbook and registration form. To reserve a space for your child in the Fall you will need to complete a registration form and send a non-refundable registration fee.

Summer Camps for Children

The Merry Hearts offers a variety of summer camps to keep your little one busy over the summer break.Camps run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:30 - 12:30 through out the summer.Please contact Mehera or Scarlett for dates and availability.

About the Teachers

The Merry Hearts is owned and operated by Mehera Ardinger and Scarlett Roth. Both women are Moore County natives. With a combined five young children Mehera and Scrlett have a vested interested in the quality of care available to children in our area.

Prior to opening The Merry Hearts, Mehera graduated from Appalachian State University and was a teacher at Laurel Hill Elementary School in Laurinburg, NC while Scarlett graduated from North Carolina State  University and was a teacher at West Pine Middle School in Pinehurst, NC. Their love of children and enthusiasm for education makes The Merry Hearts a wonderful first school experience.
