About the Coach

 I work with people who ask for help blending their families peacebly.  One of the most common problems they ask about is how to get the kids from both sides to be friends instead of enemies.  The larger problem that stems from that is the new marriage suffering in the crossfire.  I offer co-parents functional, action oriented strategies that reflect their own stated values and goals for their new family.  The view from outside their family, along with the solutions only a qualified step-family coach can provide makes it easier for them to see how to make the transition from toxic relationships to bonded ones.

No training is offered to psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, social workers & clergy when it comes to the problems unique to step relationships.  Most are still trained in the model of the traditional or biological family.  Although their advice is well intentioned, it has little to do with the stepfamily.  The training I have received is directly related and therefore extremely relevant and effective in coaching stepfamilies.

I am a 47 year old mother of two daughters, three stepsons, one dog, and a cat.  I am a stepchild, a step-grandchild, and a step-grandmother too.  You could say that I've been stepped all over!  This practical experience has all been good because I had excellent examples to follow.
