About the Sandcats    

The Sandhills Sandcats Wrestling Club supports student athletes in Grades 1 - 8. The team currently trains at the Aberdeen Primary School Gymnasium two evenings a week and participates in wrestling events throughout North Carolina. Each year the Sandhills Sandcats proudly host the NCAAU Middle School Championship at Pinecrest High School.

The Sandhills Sandcats wrestling season begins in November of each year. Although registration takes place at that time, anyone interested in joining the team is encouraged  to stop by throughout the season.

Mission Statement:

We are a non-profit youth wrestling club of caring, enthusiastic, qualified professional volunteer coaches that participate with the local community to promote the amateur sport of wrestling throughout the Sandhills Region.

  • Provide necessary support to sustain the amateur sport of wrestling in North Carolina.
  • Create an atmosphere where both boys and girls can develop into quality wrestlers and student athletes.
  • Develop quality student athletes that practice good sportsmanship.
  • Enable the Sandhills Sandcats wrestlers to learn to become winners and become future champions in life.
  • Provide necessary resources to develop a winning wrestling program.
