Farmers’ Markets
If you want to sample some of the area’s freshest produce, look no further than your local farmers’ market. Cooperatively selling produce has been a long-standing tradition throughout farming communities, providing customers with one-stop shopping. Whatever you are looking for, you’ll find that each market is bursting with homegrown favorites, including produce, plants, flowers, meats and homemade items from jams to furniture. Go local and support area farmers!
Peaches Anyone?
The Sandhills of North Carolina produce some of the best tasting peaches in the country due to the area’s sandy soil and temperate climate. If you don’t believe us, head to Candor’s Annual North Carolina Peach Festival held the third Saturday in July. You’ll not only enjoy a great parade, entertainment, crafts, games and rides for the kids but also find everything coming up peaches: peach ice cream, fresh peaches, peach desserts, peach pins and of course peach festival t-shirts!
