The Amazing Southern Pines Race
(10 - 15 years)
Are you good at cryptoquotes, Suduko, crosswords and riddles? Put your knowledge and your reasoning skills to the test as your team competes against other teams in the first ever Amazing Southern Pines Race. Research and creative thinking are keys to help search out the next clue. Three teams, three different directions on foot each (with an adult chaperone). Where will they end up? Over five days the teams will tour Southern Pines businesses and Landmarks, learn local history and trivia, and depend on each other to find the treasure.

Hiking Into The Past

(11-15 years)
History is closer than you think. Search the natural history of the Sandhills at Weymouth Woods, Tour the Shaw House, Learn local lore of Blue's Crossing and Bethesda Community, and trace our unique ecosystem. Camp is perfect for adventurous, energetic students who enjoy being outdoors. Drop off and pick up locations will vary during the camp.

How Does Your Garden Grow?
(6-10 years)
Budding gardeners learn about plants from a worms eye view; soil enrichment (squirmy worms), hydrology (getting muddy), seed germination (fast forward), seasonal harvest, geting to know the native plants of the Sandhills and eating with color. Dig in the dirt, Plant seeds, Harvest, Cook, and Eat. Even picky eaters will enjoy using crock pots; vegetable soup, corn bread and berry cobbler; and toss up salad and homemade salad dressing!

Easy As Pie
(9 - 15 years)
The 21st Century vs Betty Crocker and Jr. Home Economics. Who really was Betty Crocker? What do you do with those little buttons in packages? How do you decorateda cake? Make a pie? Can I really make supper for four, for their cost of one Happy Meal? (Note: toy not included.) What are aprons for? Can I really bake a cake in a crock pot? How many days does it take a seed to germinate? From making your own apron, learning the parts of a sewing machine, sewing on button, to making frosting, decorating a cake, setting a table, and caring for a garden and making a salad, taking home a homemade pie and casserole (to bake for supper).

American Etiquette Idols
(ages 8-13 years)
It's party time! What to wear? What to say? How to behave? Thanks to Peggy Post and Granny Edith all bases are sure to be covered. Etiquette enters the crazy 21st century teeming with cell phones, fast food and greater independence. The question is can etiquette keep up? Find out on Friday when the girls and boys throw their very own theme party. There will be judges so remember don't talk with your mouth full and please leave your cell phones at home.
