When SandhillKids was first launched in 2003, the goal was simple - provide information and resources for families in the local community. Since that time, our mission has changed very little. The core of our mission is still focused on families. What makes us unique are the people behind the site.

SandhillsKids is designed, maintained and supported by parents. Because our site is created by the same people who use it, we know that we can bring you the best choices for your family.

Our Mission

To become the Sandhills Region’s premiere online portal for family-focused information including local events, activities, programs, education, sports, shopping and community resources by creating a website that provides a support network and voice for working and stay-at-home parents, simplifying their lives and enhancing the lives of their families.

Our Goals

• Create an interactive website that allows members to quickly access local calendars, weather, community resources, family friendly business and services.
• Publish an online community calendar that can be viewed by day, week, or month and allows members to post events for their individual organizations.
• Send bi-weekly newsletters highlighting upcoming registration deadlines, events, new content, promotions and other important information for area parents.
• Build an online community that provides its members with a voice through the use of online blogs and forums.
• Work with existing organizations to create an updated listing of family resources and points of contacts.
• Refer our members to the appropriate organization or website rather than duplicating information that is readily available from another source.
• Develop promotions and discount programs that reward families for supporting local businesses, including our SandhillsKids Card.
• Sponsor quarterly activities/programs with other organizations designed around families with children of all ages.
• Create a financially self-sufficient organization that employs local parents while providing scheduling flexibility around their family life.
• To become a voice for families within the Sandhills Region.
